Energy Drinks Making you Fatter?

If you’re like most people today, whenever you are looking for a little extra pick-me-up to help you get through your day, you most likely reach for an energy drink.

After all they are loaded full of stimulating caffeine…but did you also know that are jam packed full of sugar?

…So besides becoming a little more alert, are you also getting something else? Yes, a truck load more calories that adds inches to your waistline.  Exactly how many teaspoons of sugar, some of them have 12 teaspoons of sugar! GROSS!

The most popular energy drink is Red Bull, who sells more than 3 Billion cans per year is made up of mostly water, Taurine, Caffeine and 27 grams of Sugar!

If you sit back and really think about it, if you drank a can of Red Bull every day for one year, you would consume a massive 1404 grams of sugar! That’s just disgusting…and that’s just from an energy drink..not to mention the sugar content in pop and juice(we’ll save these for future posts…)

So let’s get real here!  Are energy drinks really worth the “brief” buzz and short term energy boost you get,
all at the risk of adding inches of fat to your stomach.
